Since the beta launch, FileRide has been growing steadily. We have been enjoying a large amount of positive user feedback. Also, a number of blogs have been praising the service! The first blog to mention us was Netzwertig quickly followed by ReadWriteWeb and a number of other blogs around the world. We would like to thank you all for your kind words!
The demand for a Mac client is huge and we are working hard to get it out there! Please be patient! In the meantime you can try the FileRide mobile and FileRide web which are due to be released within the next two weeks.
Three days remain until we close FileRide to invited people only. We hope that you will take this opportunity to try the new way of social networking! If you feel anxious about installing FileRide, we understand. It’s a desktop program. It has access to your files. It’s sending information to the internet. But we want to assure you that we only access the files you choose to add yourself. We don’t send any sensitive information like the names or the content of your files from your computer. There is no way for people to access your files or any other information on your computer from the outside. Also no files are associated with you as a person, they are simply linked to an anonymous id that we assign to your installation of FileRide. The FileRide installation is also very clean as we don’t put any information in the Windows registry or pollute your Windows installation in any way at all. If you don’t like it, simply uninstall it and pretend it never happened. However, we think you’ll love it.
